Illustration to Sculpture: Meg Hunt's Window Installation for Wanderlust
July 11, 2013One of the most challenging (and impressive!) projects that an artist can undertake is transforming an illustration on paper into a 3D physical form. Recently, we were delighted to find an illustration-to-sculpture project just like this for Wanderlust on Red Cap artist, Meg Hunt's, blog!
Meg's “Firebird” takes on new life in an artist-curated window installation series for the Portland-based vintage shop. Constructed out of dip-dyed coffee filters and paper towels, the Firebird structure is one-part Alice in Wonderland, one-part fantasy creature, and all-parts Meg Hunt genius.
